Tammany Turkey Trot returns to the streets of Downtown Covington on Thanksgiving morning for a 5K and 5 mile run/walk and a 1 mile fun run. We are honored to be the beneficiary for this year with proceeds directly benefitting the homeless animals of Northshore Humane Society!
Race/course info: Athletes will start their Thanksgiving run next to the St. Tammany Parish Municipal Complex in downtown Covington. From there, both 5K and 5 mile runners will make their way through downtown and into the splendor of moss-covered trees that line the streets. Close to St. Paul’s High School runners will head slightly west before turning north. From there, it’s a return trip for the finish line at the St. Tammany Courthouse. The 1 Mile Walk/Run that starts at 7:30 am, just before the 5K & 5 Mile. 5 Mile runners will finish their Turkey “tour” with a scenic jaunt further south past more beautiful homes before rejoining with the 5K course and heading north back to downtown.
